ABOUT ANNE
Dr. Anne is currently a senior lecturer at Perdana University-Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Serdang, Selangor and an Adjunct Lecturer for Monash University Malaysia in Bandar Sunway. She had worked quite extensively with marginalized community as the Head of Advocacy and Public Policy at Malaysian AIDS Council (“MAC”) before joining UNICEF as their consultant and seconded to the Institute for Health Management (“IHM”), Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2007.
She started embarking into research when she joined Monash University Malaysia in 2010 as a Research Associate looking at road traffic injuries and childhood injuries in general.
She then was offered to further her study at Monash University Malaysia in 2012 and had completed her PhD in 2018 in which she had also undertaken her Master of Counseling degree with Open University Malaysia and graduated the same time. Dr. Anne also has been actively involved in volunteering at local NGOs by providing free counseling services at All Women’s Action Malaysia (“AWAM”) other services with Breastfeeding Information Bureau (“BIB”) and Aktif Otak Clinic. In the area of research, she has published several articles in high impact journals within the area of public health and psychology.
Her passion is working with women and children within the area of domestic and child abuse and also special needs children and those within the marginalized community. She uses mainly CBT, Reality and SFBT approach in her counseling sessions.
