ABOUT VOON YI
Voon Yi is a licensed and registered counsellor with the Board of Counsellors, Malaysia (“LKM”). As a practicing counsellor, she adhere to the Code of Ethics of the LKM to ensure that all her clients receive professional care. She hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Bachelor’s degree in Social Science of Psychology. Also practicing as a school counsellor in a private school, Voon Yi has accumulating more than 3 years experience in working with adolescents as well as the parents.
Her expertise includes individual and group counselling, family counselling, and also speak in various talks and workshop. She mainly works with children, adolescents and parents, covering the area of career development, academic achievement, self-harm, poor self-esteem, bully, stress, emotional management, school adaptive problem, and mental and physical health, etc.
Influenced by Person Centered Therapy (“PCT”), she believe that very one has the capacity to heal themselves. PCT emphasize on the collaborative relationship between the counsellor and the client. She believe that if the client can be touched by the counsellor’s attitude of congruence, unconditional positive regards and the accurate empathy, client will then be enabled to identify and realize their full potential, thus bringing positive change in their lives in dealing with all their challenges.
